Abstract
Myelopathy can be observed frequently in HIV-infected patiens. In these patients the main cause of myelopathy is vacuolar myelopathy, but lymphoma, tuberculosis, viral infections such as cytomegalovirus and herpes simplex virus can also cause myelopathy. Although Toxoplasma infection is the main etiologic factor of cerebral mass lesions in HIV-infected patients it is not a common cause of spinal cord disease. We report a 49-year-old female who have multiple cranial and spinal lesions of toxoplasmosis. Our case indicates that, like cranial toxoplasmosis, early initiation of therapy can induce both clinical and radiologic improvement in spinal Toxoplasma infection.
