Abstract
Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) is a potent antiviral drug that has a high genetic barrier. It is used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and chronic hepatitis B. Termination of the TDF therapy because of side effects is very rare. Pruritus is not taken into account as a reason of termination in the literature. A case of chronic hepatitis B whose treatment was terminated because of pruritus is presented.
