Abstract
Acinetobacter baumannii, a healthcare-associated infectious agent with various antibiotic resistance mechanisms, may cause pneumonia, meningitis and sepsis with severe course and high mortality rate. Multidrug-resistant A. baumannii isolates are frequently responsible for post-neurosurgical nosocomial meningitis. In this article, 28-year-old male who had nosocomial meningitis following neurosurgical intervention was presented and the literature was reviewed. Cerebrospinal fluid examination of the patient improved after the addition of the intrathecal colistin to intravenous colistin and meropenem.
