Abstract
Dengue fever, transmitted by Aedes mosquitos, is prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions. Few cases involving foreign nationals have been reported in our country over the last decade. This article details a Dengue fever case in a Turkish citizen returning from Egypt and manifesting symptoms of high fever, joint pain, and rash. The patient had a white blood cell count of 3070/µl, platelet count of 141 000/µl, and positive results for Dengue virus genome via reverse transcriptase PCR testing and anti-DENV-IgM antibodies. Dengue fever should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients with fever and rash after international travel.
