Abstract
HIV prevalence has increased in individuals over the age of 50 recently. After effective treatments, the life expectancy of individuals with HIV has risen, and it has become more common in the older adult population. HIV-infected older adults face various difficulties. Stigma and delayed diagnosis due to lack of HIV suspicion are the disadvantages of these patients. Failure to pay attention to protective measures during sexual intercourse increases the risk. In this case report, we aimed to draw attention to the association of newly diagnosed syphilis and HIV infection in an 80-year-old patient who presented with non-specific symptoms.
